The exhibition focuses on the current scenario of financial crisis in North America and Europe, not as a mere disease but as a symptom of wider dysfunctional patterns clearly rooted outside the economic field.

The title of the show rephrases the famous Clintonian presidential campaign motto “It's the economy, stupid”, though emphasizing the fact that even when the crisis manifests itself as a financial one, it is just the tip of an iceberg whose submerged body possesses a rather epistemological nature.

Epistemology (from Greek epistēmē, "knowledge, science", and logos, "study of") is the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope of knowledge. Much of the debate in this field has focused on analyzing the nature of knowledge, and how it relates to notions like truth, belief, and justification. Resorting to their proverbial intuition, artists sniff the air and give us their personal approach to this complex issue through aesthetic metaphors that pinpoint diverse conflicting aspects of society that function as a sort of correlate (or should we say collateral?) to this financial crisis that has so many facets and hide a bunch of faces.
