Hours: 7pm to 11pmExhibition: November 27-December 10, 2010801 Projects801 SW 3rd Ave. Miami, FloridaThis exhibition combines the experimental and the archival. Tiny interventions to create a situation which explores the bordeline between reality and imagination, between factuality and fiction. Each of the works in the exhibition revisits a particular moment, avoiding nostalgia and contradictions. In the absence of the whirring projector, the screening room and the shaft of light stabbing over the audience in the theater, the exhibition " Matinee " documents a time, but also explores the poetic and continuing possibility of private reflection. We had examined isolated aspects of this moment.
For Bergson " the cinema is only the projection, the reproduction of a constant universal illusion." Using methods of collage, drawing, projection and installations these work deconstruct a selected space and address the ambiguity of today's virtuality.801 Projects, a Miami based artist's project was founded in 2005.Nereida Garcia-Ferraz, Consuelo Castaneda and Angela Valella have been collaborating on a series of performative events since 2006.There will be two other related events during the course of the exhibition.
